not-so-scary halloween makeup – it’s edible!

October 3, 2011

This post is a tip from Emily Doubilet of SustyParty, a rad company that promotes eco-friendly celebration-making

Calling all do-it-yourself, natural mamas & papas! This Halloween, why not paint your little one’s adorable face with completely non-toxic edible face paints? The paints from Wee Can Too are organic, food-based powders that are also vegan, wheat-free, sugar-free, and preservative free. They’re made from organic fruit & vegetable powders, rice cereal, and rice flour. And while I haven’t tasted them, they’re said to have a sweet-tart taste.

Wee Can Too’s edible face paint comes in 4 colors: Purple/Blue made with REAL blueberries, Red/Pink made with REAL beets, Yellow made with REAL pumpkin and Green made with REAL spinach. The paint powders come in jars, which are housed in a convenient tote bag. Each kit comes with 10 ounces of powder paint, which makes 30 oz. of paint. All you do is add water in separate cups and let your (or your sweet child’s) imagination run wild! If they can eat, they can paint! Wee Can Too’s paints are CPSIA Compliant.

Wee Can Too was founded in 2007 by a momma who sought a safer and more nutritious art product for her infant daughter… Voilá… Edible Art Supply was born!

You can get We Can Too’s Edible Face Paint and other fun party goods at SustyParty.

This is so much cooler than the corn syrup & food coloring face paint I made last Halloween.
